The
California Organization of Police and Sheriffs proudly sponsors the
biannual "COPS Police Expo." With law enforcement facing increasing
challenges finding qualified law enforcement applicants, the COPS
Police Expo brings hundreds of potential recruits to a venue where
Public Safety Departments from throughout California gather and recruit
potential Public Safety Workers. The COPS Police Expo is the largest
non-tax supported police recruitment effort in the state of California.
The
COPS Police Expos regularly attract over 10,000 citizens at each show.
Children love watching the K-9 and bicycle safety demonstrations,
sitting on CHP motorcycles and climbing through sheriffs helicopters.
The police officers have a great day of interacting with the public,
playing with the children and answering questions from police recruits.
Everybody has a great time and many peace officers are hired as a
result of our Police Expos.
Here's what the Police Departments say about recruitment at the COPS Police Expo:
"The whole day was very beneficial for sworn and civilian recruitment." - Beverly Hills Police Department
"I
had my doubts the time I came to your Expo about 3 years ago, but year
after year, I get the best qualified applicants here than at any other
recruitment fair I attend!" — U.S. Secret Service
"All aspects of the Expo are tops! This is a great tool for recruitment for all departments." — L.A. County Safety Police
"We had over 300 interest cards filled out! An extremely professional presentation." — Montclair Police Department
"The best part of the day was the variety of applicants." — Torrance Police Department

The next COPS Police Expo is Saturday April 28, 2007 from 10-3 at The LA County Fairplex.
