situations fraught with hazards as they are rushed to the Gulf Coast to
assist in maintaining law and order in the disaster-torn area.

For years, law enforcement officers have been using latex gloves to
protect themselves when making arrests, searching suspects, and
handling narcotics and needles. Now a warning on latex gloves has been
issued by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
(NIOSH).
