" COPS- Committed to the best Legal Defense, Labor Relations, and Political Action for our members in the Law Enforcement Community".
Officer Stephanie Wharton teaches and works with kids in an elementary school.
COPS protects and empowers citizens.
The
first duty and the highest priority of government is public safety. We
understand strong communities are not built by law enforcement alone.
Citizens can make a difference by joining COPS so together we can keep
our families and neighborhoods safe from dangerous criminals and
terrorists.
COPS defends the rights and benefits of peace officers.
Public
safety is one of the toughest, most dangerous and vital jobs in the
land. No one works harder to ensure cops get proper pay, fair benefits
and safer working conditions. We will fight to protect the peace
officers who put their lives on the line protecting our communities.
COPS connects peace officers and communities.
COPS
is working hard to build bridges of trust between cops and communities
by sponsoring programs including COPS Citizen Membership,
Anti-Terrorism Law Enforcement Response Training (ALERT), Law
Enforcement Apprenticeship Program (LEAP), California Police K-9 Trials
and Championship, Police Expo, the Police Unity Tour for the National
Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, COPS Awards honoring heroes in
law enforcement, Scholarship Programs and Don’t Drink and Drive
Campaign.
Memorial Tribute
In
May, we honor our peace officers who died in the line of duty. Join
COPS in honoring these brave men and women. Ceremonies will be held in
Washington, D.C., Sacramento, California, and local communities
throughout our nation.
